Dr. Ronnie Bhola, is a leading Vitreo Retinal Surgeon in Trinidad and Tobago, who has transformed eye care throughout the country and region over the last decade. He is a MBBS graduate of the University of the West Indies and completed advanced sub-specialty training in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and to date has performed over 5,000 retina procedures and more than 15,000 cataract surgeries throughout his career which spans both the public and private sector.

In 2011, Dr. Bhola founded Caribbean Vitreous & Retina Surgery Ltd., and in 2016, he established the Trinidad Eye Hospital (TEH), with a team of doctors and medical technicians focused on providing, high-quality eye care for patients. Through subsidized pricing, charity programs and initiatives like Focus on the Future, Dr. Bhola has led TEH to facilitate free eye screenings for Diabetic patients, hundreds of charity surgeries and vision care for thousands of students.

In 2024, he was awarded the Hummingbird Medal Gold, a national honor recognizing his outstanding contributions to medicine In Trinidad & Tobago. Dr. Bhola has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and held leadership roles in OSWI and the Ophthalmological Society of Trinidad & Tobago highlighting his unwavering dedication to advancing eye care, research, and education in his field.
