The Essilor Cornea 550 is a multifunctional corneal topographer designed to provide detailed analysis of the cornea and ocular surface within one comprehensive diagnostic platform.
Its Placido-ring topography system captures thousands of measurement points to support precise evaluation of the corneal surface, while high-resolution colour and infrared imaging expand its capabilities into dry-eye assessment, meibography, pupillography and anterior-segment documentation.
For dry-eye assessment, the Cornea 550 supports non-invasive tear-film break-up time measurement, tear-meniscus evaluation, ocular-redness analysis and assessment of meibomian gland loss. The system also incorporates the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire and can combine diagnostic findings into a graphical summary report for easier review and patient communication.
The Cornea 550 also supports advanced contact-lens fitting through fluorescein simulation, an integrated lens database and RGP autofit functionality, while tools for ortho-K monitoring and corneal aberrometry further extend its clinical versatility.
